"The Midas Touch" made by Carrick Ryan, age 14, UserID:Carrick20
Carrick wins Sierra Blanks from JohnU $30 Value
Description: This pen was hand turned by me (Carrick Ryan) using a Majestic Squire Gold TN & Chrome Ballpoint Twist Pen kit paired with a TruStone Black & Gold Matrix pen blank. I had to drill this blank very slowly and carefully in order to prevent cracking. After turning the blank down to size I dry sanded from 150 to 600 grit, then wet sanded using micro-mesh pads from 1500 - 12000 grit.
In 1st place is Entry #1
"First Pen!" made by Titus Johnson, age 16 grandson of Steve Johnson UserID: SteveJ
Titus wins A Gift Certificate from R and B Crafts $50
Description: This is a Berea hardwoods Olmsted kit wrapped in Electric Yellow Mesh AA. Titus chose the blank from my stash. He cut, drilled and glued the tubes. I rounded the edges and he turned down to size, sanded, polished and pressed it all together. Not exactly the easiest of materials for you first pen!
I'll be reaching out to all winners for shipping addresses, so we can prizes to all our winners.
