So this past weekend I went to an older gentleman's house who was getting out of the woodworking and turning game due to health problems. While there going through stuff that I wanted to take off his hands I spend some time helping him organize a bit and came across a box marked "pen turning" full of stuff. He gave me this box for $60 as long as I took the box with it. SO, I humbly agreed to assist his cause but removing said box full of kits and blanks.
The pen blanks are all wood but include actual snake wood, various burl pieces, marble wood, cedars, etc etc etc. A good haul and variety, will probably post picture of some here eventually to get help with ID. I like wood blanks, so I am very happy with this collection.
For kits, WOW. Here is some of what was included:
- cigar
- propelling
- navigator
- Cambridge
- robusto
- FT double twist
- atlas
- bolt action (.30 cal and steam punk)
- convertible (from Rockler)
- sketch pencil with led
- bag full of what looks like slimlines
- couple of others without clear tags
So yeah, I guess I won this past weekend's "contest" of who can manage to get the best deal of woodworking/turning stuff. Pretty stoked about this find. Now I have to mak the time to get out there and turn it...
