I used to have a vacation condo down there. If you're going, make sure to stop at Flip's barbeque -- Eastern North Carolina barbeque is like nothing else! The USS North Carolina is moored in the Cape Fear River there -- worth a look, but take your bug spray.

And the USCG Diligence, the cutter my son is currently serving on, is right across the river from the USS North Carolina.
