I got some really wierd email scams. Read these.

Hello dear

I am writing this mail to you with tears and sorrow from my heart .

I am Jessica David Stevens, accountancy student in the university,my late father David Stevens was farmer in the country and he was shot dead in an incident east of the capital, Harare in Zimbabwe. My father was killed during an incident involving a group of farmers who responded to a radio distress call from a neighbour in the Virginia Macheke district. My late father and another farmer were chased and shot at before taking refuge in a local police station and i was left alone with the twins my mother delivered before her death. The protesters came also to our house and destroyed everything, but I escaped with the twins and the briefcase that my father entrusted to me before his death, I went to my grand mother and stayed for while because of my studies, but life was very hard for me, it came to a point that students went into prostitution to pay for school fees and to feed. You can read from the news in news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/715001.stm When I opened the briefcase and found out the documents that my late father have deposited some mount of money which I am the next of kin in a bank in Burkina Faso, I travelled there to withdraw the money for a better life for me and for my twins brothers, when I get there I found out that my late father instructed the bank that I will withdraw the money when I am married, or with a trustee that will stand on my behalf. Actually in search of an honest and reliable person who will help me to clear the money and help me also the investment in a profitable business venture. I have chosen to contact you after my prayers and I believe you will not try to cheat me but rather take me as your own sister. Though you may wonder why I am so soon giving in to you without seeing you, well I will say that my instinct still tells that you could be true to me. Briefly,I will like to disclose much to you if you will help me to relocate to your country with the substance that i inherited from my parent. The amount is $15.5 Million which I will like to invest in your country into any lucrative business venture which you are to advise and execute seeing that i have no business experience for now. However, I shall send you the depositing document on confirmation of your acceptance to assist me for the transfer and investment of the money in your Country. As you will help me in an investment, and I will like to complete my studies, as I was in my 1st year in the university, when the crisis started. It is my intention to compensate you with 25% of the total money for your services and the balance shall be my investment capital. This is the reason why I decided to contact you. Please all communications should be through this email address only for confidential purposes. As soon as I receive your positive response showing your interest I will put things into action immediately. In the light of the above, I shall appreciate an urgent message indicating your ability and willingness to handle this transaction sincerely. Awaiting your urgent and positive response. Please do keep this only to your self please i beg you not to disclose it till i come over , once the fund has been transferred.I will send you my picture in my next mail. With due respect, I am pleading that you help me, i am giving all this detailed information with every transparency believing that you will have a clear picture of the base of help i need from you. I hope to hear from you soon,May truth and love be the guiding word in my refuge in you dear helper. Sincerely yours, Jessica David Stevens.

From,Mrs.Henriette Conte, Conakry, Guinea,

My Dear Friend, May the blessings of Allah be upon you and your family..

I am .Mrs.Henriette Conte. I am contacting you with the hope that you will be of great assistance to stand by me in this transaction. I currently have within my reach the sum of 4.3 million U.S dollars cash which I intend to use for investment purposes.I therefore personally appeal to you seriously and religiously for your urgent assistance to stand by me and recieve this money in your country where I believe it will be safe since I cannot leave the country due to the restriction of movement imposed on the members of my family by the Government now. This money came as a result of a payback contract deal between my husband and a Russian firm in our country. The Russian partners returned my husbands share .Presently, the Government has intensified their probe in to my husbands financial resources which has led to the freezing of all our accounts, local and foreign, the revoking of all our business licences and the arrest of my First son.In view of this I want to acted very fast to withdraw this money from one of our finance houses before it will be closed down.My husband deposited the money in a finance firm for safe keeping . No record is known about this fund by the government because there is no documentation showing that we have such funds.Further more, my elder son have been in detention in the last four days following the death of my late husband for charges of State organized murder and corrupt practices, he was just been released by the Supreme Court after the goverment brokered a deal with my family regarding his freedom , and he is still under interrogation about my late husband's assets and some vital documents. Due to the current situation in the country and government attitude to my family,I cannot make use of this money within, thus I seek your help in transferring this funds out for investment than leaving the fund here and to invest the money to profit my family Bearing in mind that you may assist me.l have decided to part with 25% of the total sum. I am seriously considering to settle down abroad in a friendly atmosphere like yours as soon as this fund get into your account so that I can start all over again if only you wish. I shall ask my son Ousmane Conte to come over to your country to liaise with you. If this proposal satisfies you. please do not let me out to the security as I am giving you this information in total trust and confidence and please include your personal telephone and fax numbers. I will greatly appreciate if you accept my proposal in good faith. Your URGENT response is needed. Regards and Allah Bless you. Mrs.Henriette Conte

Who ever thinks up this s***? I notice it says Allah instead of God. Obviously some guy from India.

But can you afford to turn this down. Think of all the blanks and kits you could buy. If you had 3.5 million you could really get started making money with your pens. You might even open a Pen Selling Store and maybe that would be the get-rich-quick investment that Jessica wants.

Never look a gift shark in the mouth!

Yea, I get emails like those as well. They often state that they read my profile on one of the other forums that I am on and that what they read leads them to believe they can trust me. Since this type of contact is forbidden on these forums their account gets closed. Then another account is opened up and they send me another identical email. What is really crazy is that the name on the new account is different. What kind of idiots do they think we are?

Makes me wonder if my family was keeping something from me when I left the farm? Naaaaah that was US farming. We don't actually eat and sleep with our cows. i woudl have though had I knnwn it was worth that kind of money.

Best scam email I saw recently was from the Zimbabwe government apologizing for all the scams out of Zimbabwe and if I forward my personal information they would like to deposit money into my account to make up for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Allah, Jesus, Budah, whats the difference? If one believes in a god, who cares what one calls them.
The difference is that in India, 80% of the people are Hindu and none of the above names are applicable and Jared missed his mark by a long shot!

Had he mentioned one of the three Hindu lords who rule the world; Brahma, Vishnu or Shiva he might have been pretty accurate! :)

The stereotype that everyone in the middle east practices Islam is about as accurate as those who think everyone in Texas still rides horses and wear six shooters!

I notice it says Allah instead of God. Obviously some guy from India.

It's a bunch of teenaged kids sitting in a cyber cafe in Nigeria, most likely.
(at least that's how a good percentage of them work)

They are run by an older guy who manages them ,similar to a sales manager
for one of those fly by night door-to-door magazine subscription crews.

But 15.5 million dollars? Wow .. You know how many lottery tickets that would buy??

If one would add up all the money promised in one year of these types of e-mails then we would not have to worry about our current budget .... Hummmm, wonder if these idiots send to those in charge up in DC?

Actually these types of e-mails pray on the unknowing and are just another method for gathering e-mail addresses for spam use. IF you respond to these fools then you have just confirmed your e-mail and validated the address as being a good one. THEN, well, you get what you deserve!

NO political scheme implied here, so don't ban me.

personally.....i never open emails from ANY source that i'm not familar with, especially from crap like that.....i'm afraid of getting some stinking virus.....so i sit back and see everyone elses....

been there, done that.......had to buy a new computer......without getting a couple of million from some damn farmer

While the emails are patently phony, I'm not quite sure how that bit of logic follows.

Marc, He hasn't discovered that Islam is one of the widest spread religions in the world, Remember he was home schooled before he was thrown to the sharks in public school, besides isn't every one from India, I know all the 7-11s and Quickie marts and Circle K owners are :smile-big:

I get these emails also, but never open them to read... opening them confirms to the scammers that yours is a good email address, and so the cycle begins.

Actually, once the email is received by your mail servers for you, whether you open it or not, the email address is confirmed "real". Replying to emails or using the "opt-out" link will confirm to spammers that there is an actual person on the other end of that email address.

Can I use italics any more in this message?

Just because it says that it is from another country doesn't mean that is it from anywhere other then the good old USA. Scams are scams and with the internet they could be coming from your neighbor who has rerouted it from multiple sites and anyone can write any information they want to feed you.
This kind of stuff just clogs up mail boxes, spreads viruses and creates bad impressions and stereotypes of people from other cultures that are false, negative and just plain wrong.
Delete them without opening them, it is safer that way.
