I've been a member for a couple of years now, and I don't ever recall a single post about wear issues with Chrome plating. Has anyone ever had a chrome finish fail?

No. When compared side by side, the chrome has a blueish, cold tinge of the silvery color. The rhodium and platinum are more (warm) silver looking. But as I said, you have to hold them side by side to really see the difference.

Rhodium finish adds to the perceived value. We pay more for the kits and feel justified in charging a higher price to our customers.
