The JD 140 on the left is a 1972 that I've had from new. (As a neighbor said, "Why Joe, you've had her more than half your life".) That's why I couldn't junk her. She now has a new two cylinder 18hp B&S and will have the mower deck reinstalled today. She's been stripped down and repainted during the heart transplant.

The one I'm sitting on is a recent model -1984-...she just got a complete paint job. Couldn't let her sit there while the other one got new makeup.

To answer the inevitable question...yes we have a lot of grass to mow. As a matter of fact the two JD ag tractors-1050 and 2240-are looking like they need paint jobs now...well maybe this winter....

Now, I'm going to cast some JD green and yellow PR so I can sell pens to the Deere lovers...

Joe, you might want to post some of those JD blanks for us displaced Iowa farm boys that grew up listening to Johnny Putt Putt trying to outpull those red M's. Vern

Nice job Joe, they look like new [:)] The last lawn I mowed was in 68, when I left Michigan [:p] and I wasn't riding it, I was pushing it [xx(]

They just don't make them like they used to. Certainly got your moneys worth out of both of them. I used to mow on a sod farm when I was in high school. Had an International Harvester with a 6 foot deck...
