Friday morning headed to work, I needed a chainsaw to clear a way out of my drive again.
That night, I found out the 'tree' blocking my way was only a large branch off a big live oak. More on that in a minute.
Saturday AM, LOML asks if I want help sinking any of those posts. She's hinting I need to get my butt in gear and working on the carport she's been wanting. So, I haul my scrawny 'lil butt out -- I'm 5' 6" and 150 lbs. soaking wet -- and get crackin'.
Six 12' X 6" X 6" posts 2-1/2' deep in 500 lbs. quikcrete later and the 24' X 20' carport is underway:

Sunday AM, back to the chainsaw and cutting up the fallen live oak. I filled an 5' X 8' trailer with mostly limbs from the oak and a little sweet gum. Most of it went to the dump, albeit I kept some 'cause it spalts nicely and makes good turning stock.

I'm about ready to go back out into the 90+ temps. and tackle some low live oak limbs that are too close to the house and don't have any growth on them. That should make LOML happy and improve the tree's disposition as well. :D

If I have anything left tonight, I may just go play in the shop.
More'n likely, I'll just knock back a cold one or two. ;)

Cheers,
Gary

Gary, I'm tired just reading this. Digging holes is tough enough, did you mix the concrete yourself? It actually felt like Florida here last few days, mid 90's with nasty humidity.

I spent most of afternoon building a ramp in the garage for my 17 year old terrier to use instead of the steps

I went to Gary's Bubbaville event. He truly has a beautiful home and pleasant surroundings. Myself my wife and daughter drove up and had a great time socializing and meeting a lot of nice turners. We had a great time.

Hi Jim, Thanks. We really enjoyed having everyone visit.

Tommy -- I cheated; filled the post holes with water, stood the posts in, got 'em straight with post levels, and poured in the bags of 'crete. I mix it right in the hole with a `stir-stick'.

I expect to pick up the 12' and 20' 2" X 12" top plates one night this week from the sawyer.
