This may not be a new idea to many of you but for me this was a revelation.

My wife actually came to my shop to talk to me and I was in the middle of finishing a pen. Off to the rubbing alcohol, remove the cap, put some on my shop towel, close the cap, wipe the blank.

She looked at me and laughed (she does that a lot) and went away without a word. She came back a minute later with one of these:

Something she uses all the time when doing nails. All you need to do is push down on the top and it dispenses a perfect amount of whatever onto your pad. They are made for acetone and rubbing alcohol so no worries about seals leaking, plastic melting, whatever.

In the grand scheme of things, is this life changing? Probably not but man it sure is a lot quicker and less messy.

We use those to put the perfect amount of alcohol on our cleaning wipes when we are doing fiber optic fusions! Never even occured to me to use it for cleaning blanks, tools, etc.
