I'm very new to casting blanks but have been around epoxy for a while. Mostly for making scale radio control airplanes. I've never seen this.
Alumilite Clear Slow. New bottles so it shouldn't be old since I ordered directly from Alumilite. Mixol pigments I picked up at Rockler. I used the Red, White, and Blue pigments since I'm _trying_ to make a blank for Woodcraft's Turning for Troops program. Everything looked great until about the 9 minute mark and I noticed that the blue was a little more bubbly than I expected. By the 10.5 minute mark it was foamy. I poured the blank anyhow and put it in the pot but I'm sure it's ruined.
Resin was at 95f when I poured it. Neither the White or the Red did this. The resin was mixed in a larger cup before being split in 3.
Do you think the Blue just hates Alumilite? I used the same pigments yesterday with Amazing Clear Cast and it was fine though I used less of the Blue.
