Who is going on my next fishing trip with me?

He supposedly jumps out of a helicopter onto a Marlin. Pretty awesome video, and some creative video editing.

There is no way that is 100% real. No doubt he jumped on a marlin, but had than marlin been fresh and he just lept onto it out of nowhere, that marlin would have immediately sounded (dive deep) and taken that dude with him.

If I had to be, the fish was a catch-n-release that he hopped on after the hook was removed.

You can see the footage of the marlin before the chopper hovers over it---- I just don't see that a striped marlin is going to let a chopper AND a diver with a camera get that close to him unless he's been worn out by a hook and line.

The guy came to the surface for a second of two with the fish and then let the fish go and it did go straight down. Maybe enough of a shock caused the fish to let itself come to the surface. These fish do jump out of the water don't they?

The part that makes me think it's staged is that they had a videographer in the water before the "angler" left the helicoptor. That sinks it for me!

Yes, marlin will jump like a kangaroo when startled like that.

And I'm almost certain you are right in observing that the camera man was already in the water. I don't think jellyfish or sea turtles run around making videos to send to Americas Funniest Videos like humans do!

NOW, if you want to see some true grit, go to youtube.com and type in "noodling".

There are a LOT of inebriated redneck types (ie, everyone I call family and friend!) that willingly wade around in muddy water just for the chance to stick their entire right arm into the mouth of an 80-pound catfish!

I've always wanted to do it, but I lack the tolerance for the amount of beer required, and the fact that my wife will KILL ME if she finds out what made all them cuts on my arm!
