I am about to try a stamp casting - Iwo Jima stamps with Iwo Sand for the bottom half of the pen. Then on to a collection of stamps I found from letters my dad had so I really want to get the process locked on before I use those.

My wife was kind enough to hit Michales for me (I get the creeps going in there...no reason, just can't stand going in there).

she called and told me there are a number of different ones...

Help?

I made some building blocks using the gloss over printed clip art. It makes a tough finish but it drove me nuts trying to get it on smooth.

I didn't realize there were different formulas when I bought mine. I got Matte. Works good on stamps and paper

When I use modge podge I used gloss.
Do a good turn daily!

IMHO, either one gloss or matt will be fine because with CA over it. it becomes gloss regardless.

Then again I have used good old school Elmer's Glue cut with distilled water.
2 parts glue and 1 H2O. Works as good, but I get odd looks when I buy a case. Then the question, "Are you a teacher?" my reply a la Elwood Blues, "No Ma'am, I am a wood turner"

Okay, so I'll just say that I picked mine up at michaels to do the stamps, but ended up not using it after my stamps bled of all thing into the resin. I know others will have their own opinions, but I no longer use it for the stamp pens. 3M sells a quick dry adhesive also sold at michaels. Use a little of that to secure the stamps and let it cure overnight. That will dry clear, then pour a couple coats of thin CA over the stamps and allow to gas off for about 48 hours to be safe. Some stamps bleed so the ca helps to lock it all in prior to casting.

I looked through your PM to me and didn't see what you had used...since yours is the one I am striving to emulate!

Any chance you can snap a pic of the 3M stuff?

Gonna be up your way week after next, seems I have torn my rotator cuff in two directions and threw in a torn bicep head for fun also. Gotta get an MRI at the new hospital there to see what is actually holding my shoulder in place these days.
