Just got my gallon of Simlar 41. What type of cups should I use for mixing? I remember reading that some plastic cups will melt, but I can't find where I read what to look for when buying plastic cups.

Thanks for the help!

I had little luck finding #5 plastic cups in big stores, then I was in the dollar store 1/2 mile from my house and scored (although other dollar stores didn't have them). So, if you want plastic, check the small dollar stores too.

I was a bit concerned about unwaxed paper cups getting soggy in my heated ultrasonic cleaner. I dont know if it would be an issue or not - I choose not to find out.

Also note that presription pill containers are typically recycle code 5 and can be used for mixing small amounts

Unwaxed paper will absorb the water and cause the water to get into the resin.

Not exactly. The cups I used to purchase were waxed on the outside and for some reason (less product, more money) they stopped waxing them. I didn't notice it until I had milky water droplets floating on my resin.

Paper waxed or not work well, and a little better on the environment(though the left over resin i guess would not be).I guess the water would be a problem with paper, but I don't think you need the ultarsonic cleaner unless you cast with no pressure(I know you do Soligen).Victor
