I am a fan of usa but I purchase from anyone that has a sale on.
I noticed (after I bought from USA) that Penn State was selling Majestic and the JR for $29.95 and $24.95 compared to USA's Emperor and Emperor JR for $50.and JR for $50.
They seem to be the same pen with cosmetic changes. I really like the Majestic best. They even use the same sleeve's.
In your judgement, are they the same quality

I am interested on hearing about this too.

I have been buying nothing but CSUSA and Berea kits but IF the quality is up to par and the price difference is that much, I will most likely consider these PSI kits.

Jim you've made some good observations but be please watch which model you compare to which. Above you posted the emperor rhodium/gold prices to the majestic rhodium/black titanium prices. The emperor rhodium/black titanium kits are $10 cheaper then the thodium/gold kits. If you compare apples to apples the prices come closer together with the majestics still being less expensive unless one gets his pens from Craft supply in a group buy when they are 25% cheaper!

All that said, I have made several of each and would put them in the class as far as fit, finish, balanced weight, etc, and in a craft show display would not try to sell one over the other as I believe they are very "equal" with the crystal in the clip making the difference as to which the women would buy and which the men would buy. I have yet to sell a majestic to a man buying for himself.

I also have yet to try the Jr. Majestic because ever time I wanted to order some, they were always out of stock! I have seen them and think they are probably the best size pen of the bunch.

Don't forget, and this is an assumption on my part (we all know what you get when you make an assumption) that WoodTurningz sells the PSI line at a lower price than PSI. Not sure what their cost on the Majestics is.

Hi,

The jr. Majestic is a good seller for me. As far as i'm concern, quality of both CSU and PSI higher end kit are equal. Both Dyacom kits. It's thru that the crystal seem to intimidate the mens, even if they really like the oveall look and feel of the pen. What i want to try in switch an jr. Emperor clip on a jr. Majectic and see if i can sell His(plain clip)/Her(crystal clip) Majextic set. I'm waiting for my jr. emp. to come in. If someone has both kit maby he/she can let us know if they can be exchange, my feeling is yes.

Alfred

P.S. You can get volume discount on PSI kits too from most of their distributor, but i rerely see group getting organised thru a PSI reseller.

Alfred, one thing to remember is that the emperor and majestic don't just have clips, they have clip/finale assemblies. Also remember the clips/caps match the centerbands and lower caps so mixing caps probably wouldn't look good. To help you visualize, here is a shot I took several months ago when we were discussing the premium pens and their hardware.

One thing to consider IF you can dislodge the majestic clip from its finale is that the Statesman (shown in the middle below) does have a single clip and might look "manly" on the Majestic!

Just food for thought.
