Hey Guys,

I swear I am still alive. My Wife and I finally made the deal work out on our new home. We were able to sell our old home (read - give it away). Actually, we still did very well in this market and were able to move up to our dream home. So needless to say, I have not been able to do anything other than install this, paint that, do this that and the other thing in a while. My shop is about 80% back together in the new garage. As you can see from the photo below, I have my landscape work cut out for me! [xx(]

I still check in often and have seen some truly amazing work being produced. I hope to get back into turning and other things in the near future. Thanks for allowing me to pick up where I left off as you have so many times in the past!

P.S. I still have my turning Frock...

Congrats on the new place. :) Here I thought all this time you were designing new frock's :D
I do believe I could make a nice chipping and putting place in that yard. All I got is 5 ac. of
cactus and rocks [V]

You both SUCK!

My paltry little (1100 sf) house lies on a lot that is 50 foot wide and 150 feet deep.

Looks to me that Fangar's house wouldn't even fit on my lot! :(

Is that your own little helicopter landing spot in the back? :D Landscaping: Are you going to get back into wood pens and grow your own burls? :D Nice house and nice lot!

Plenty of room out back for a 30x40 workshop.

Got that right Jeff. It will be in the plans, just as soon as I can afford eating something other than macaroni and cheese whiz!

I think your right Mudder, by my ariel observation, that looks like 2.5 ac to me. :)

Holy Moly Anthony.... 2.59 to be exact. Nice eye.

By the way, that photo was taken with my Aerial Photography Radio Controlled plane.

Cheers,

Fangar

You guys crack me up...

It should be great in time. The house is 3000 sqft, one story with no basement. They don't do basements in CA as it would be too good a spot to produce Methamphetamine, I guess.

;)

Now the truth comes out, he didn't mention in his first post of the air stip in the yard, or do you stop traffic and use the street ;)

Now I see it, I thought it was a drive way, but doubles as an air field. Silly me [:p]

Man you are good!

The driveway in front of the house is 16 feet across. So the length is ample plus for the airstrip. Here is a video of the surrounding areas taken with the same plane. My landing was a bit shaky as this was the first flight from the place and I had not worked on my approach prior to this. Altitude at peak was about 1000 feet:

Congrats, James! But I have one question. Where the hell's the shop?[?] You can't do no turnin' in that thing. The missus would KILL you.[}:)];)

Oh, and 3,000 sq ft? I didn't know Chippies made that much![}:)][:p]

Duckin' and runnin' for cover.

Just watched the video. Dude! You've got some EXPENSIVE hobbies! I was heavy into RC 20 to 30 years ago. Couldn't afford it for a while and my radio went out of date and I lost interest. BTW, did you file an FAA flight plan for that flight? That was some altitude!;)

I would tell you what you had for breakfast, but then that would be over the top. :D

Great video and tunes to go with it. We have a large air field about 10 miles from me. They hold big events all the time. I am impressed by the new big ass jets they have now. Looks like you have one :) A guy got killed at that air strip about 5 or so years ago. Plane crashed and the prop went threw the chain link fence and stuck into a spectators head. Pretty freak thing.

I have a large Spitfire I built centuries ago, all mocked up, but never covered it. I thought if I finished it, I would crash it. [V]

Congrats again on the new place and hope you keep hitting the air strip and not the front door :D

LOL... We don't...

The shop is in the 3+ car garage for now, as I had it in the old place. I have some plans for a 4 car addition where 2 cars of it will be the shop. Should be nice. Down the road though.

Anyway, I turn where I say I turn... I mean I wear the Frock in this family!

FAA who? :D

I have been flying for over 20 years how. My old man got me into it when I was a rat.

Now days, the radios have come so far. I run about 5 different planes and heli's off of the same radio. They are computer based now and can be setup to work with different schemes.

I do 100% electric now. I ran gas as a child, but the down time was always extreme. With the electrics, I can fly anywhere. Once I am up people don't even know that I am there. I have another little side business where I take aerial photos of properties. You are right though, it can be expensive. Here is a site that I am working on of the work.

Ah yes, Wilton. I have a friend that lives in Walnut Cove, right down the road. You're right between Folsom and Vacaville. Hope you'll never need those beautiful fences to keep escapees out.;)
Nice to have you back.[8D]

Ahh, that explains why the planes look like some my earlier control line stuff. ;) BION I modified a few CL planes for RC gas. They had some of the coolest designs then. Then I got into designing my own. My AF supervisor got me into it. His name was Mike Yeager... Gen Chuck Yeager's son. But that's another story. I may expound on it some day.

Cool arial site! [^]

Not to blow warm air up your turning smock, but that is a nice place!!

As far as the plane, be careful and don't get your <s>fanger</s> uh finger caught in the prop. They are even worse than a bicycle chain! ;)

Nice new place James. I still use your CA application method, thanks again for that. That aerial photography is pretty cool. My cousin has a big farm and paid an arm and a leg to some guy to photograph the farmstead and some land. You must have some sweet video cameras and still cameras. Anyway, I'm glad you're doing well. You always put together some beautiful stuff. I still go to your album and look through your photos.

I would never do anything so foolish! I can't even believe you would mentioned that. I mean really...
