I've been looking around for MicroMesh lately. I need a couple more sets for various materials. I got my original set from a group buy.

Where have you found your best prices?

Michael,
I bought a lot during the group buy, and got some more during various discount offerings (like the one Woodturningz ran a few months ago). We can negotiate something this way you don't have to buy any. Plus I can finally get rid of that lucite blank that has been taunting me!

Check Charles (Tangboy5000) or at http://www.woodchipshome.com

I try to support our members and his rate are really great too! [:)]

If you're going to order them, I'd try these http://www.sisweb.com/micromesh/mmr_pads.htm and get the 9-pack for $8.10. Woodcraft has basically the same set for something like $12 or $15 in Springfield, too, if you want to avoid shipping or if you're headed there for other purposes (like to meet up with us to show off some Santas!).

Also, please let me know if you are going to order; I'd like to get some MicroGloss, and will share the shipping.

I have ordered from here before but they arent the cheapest but they do have some nice wood though.

Whatever site it is ordered from, make sure you compare apples to apples. Some places omit the 1,500 grit (lowest) which reduces the price. 1,500 supposedly translates to like 400 grit, but when using certain materials, I find the regular paper does not work as well as the MM. Also, some places sell the packets in sheets of 3x6, while others are sized smaller. If possible, and if your budget allows, spend a little extra and buy the bigggest size sheets you can. They cut easy and will last you a long time.

For example, my first pack was bought from either Woodcraft or Berea Hardwoods and is actually half the size of the sheets I purchased from Arizona Silhouettes.

If you compare carefully I have not found a lower price for the same package anywhere. I sell it in packs of 9 from 1500 through 12000. You can choose from 4 sizes 3x6, 6x6, 6x9, and 6x12.

Have you given any thought to selling individual sheets?
