When stabilizing, is the "inner" container disposable?

It'll be many months before I begin casting and stabilizing, but these quesions just came to mind--

I'm assuming that the resin used to stabilize has a cure time, right? Is it a catalyzed cure or an out gassing cure?

Do you remove the blanks from the medium and then reuse it? Does it harden? Can you reuse the "inner" container that holds them while under vacuum?

Thanks!

I don't know what's used for stabilization, so I cannot answer that. Say you're working on heavily spalted or burled wood. What would be used for that?

If you are planning on getting into stabilizing your own blanks, I highly recommend Curtis' Cactus Juice. Talk with him and he'll get you set up with everything you need.

I bought some pearl-ex the other day and plan to try it on some really punky spalted maple blanks I cut back in Germany. My hope is that the Juice (When I buy the kit) will mix with the pearl-ex and fill the blank completely adding a strange finish with a little added color. That's the plan...but I still need to buy the juicer from Curtis when things are back in stock. The Youtube videos are pretty awesome as well if you haven't seen them!

I do not believe that pearlex is going to penetrate the wood. Rememember, the pores of the wood are microscopic and I don't believe the pearlex granules are. I have not tried it so it would be a wood experiment but my gut says it will not work.

Either way Curtis, it will be about two hours of fun working it out, ha ha ha. I still have to buy the system from you. I just bought a used JB DV-6E 6 CFM Eliminator Vacuum Pump so I hope that will be a step in the right direction.
