Drilling is so much nicer</u> with high-quality drill bits. Thanks to Tom's group buy of Norseman bits (several months ago) I replaced my most used HF bits with the good ones. It makes me happy to reach for a bit and find that is gray in color, rather that gold.

Those bits make clean holes even in inlace acrylester! I silently thank Tom every time I use a Norseman bit.

These bits are worth the money from AS or makaiolani (Aaron) or wherever you can find them.

Do you have a Drill Doctor or some other way of sharpening them? If you don't they will eventually be no better than the HF bits. I've been using a set of HF bits for well over a year, but before I use one I haven't used before it gets sharpened with my Drill Doctor and gets re-sharpened every 4-5 pens. I have no trouble drilling anything, even ebonite and the Shaeffer Italian resins that Elliot Landes was selling.

I recently purchased a 115 piece set of Chicago & Latrobe bits.

Much higher quality than the $50 cheapie sets, but not quite as good as the Norseman bits.

When I went to the local HF store to buy my big honking box of drill bits, the cobalt set was on sale, so I bought it. I've been pretty happy.
