The little button battery in my digital voltmeter is going bad and I had a new one posted on my Wal-Mart list. Last time I bought some I think I paid about three bucks for a pair or maybe a hair less??

I had to make a stop at the Dollar Store, today, for some mundane staples and just happened to pass the battery display. Guess what....they were selling packages of 8 batteries for a buck.....made in China, of course!! I don't know how they will stack up against the Maxell batteries I bought last time; but for that kind of a price difference, I'm going to try them and see what happens??

I've been buying regular batteries at our Dollar Tree, and they seem to last just as well as the normal ones I pay 3-4 times as much for at Wal-Mart. It is kind of interesting.

Hi Randy,

Even better in Canada, $1. for 10. I give a card with every light/keychain i sell. And as far as i know, they last as well as the Walmart $2.99 ones.

Funny, the dollar store batteries will work fine in my laser pointers and the good digital calipers, but for the real cheap plastic HF digital ($5.99 on sale) it is a no-go. It only will work with the super-high-end batteries. It figures though, cheap caliper, expensive batteries, higher cost/expensive caliper, cheap batteries.

I did the battery thing from a dollar store for my dig. cam. The batteries lasted for quite a long time 3 pics to be exact...lol. Batteries are one thing I will spend the extra for.

Keith,
Same problem for me on the dig cam.. the hand book on mine actually calls for the alkaline batteries or ni-mh rechargeable.. I've tried others, but get best result from the rechargeables..
Also bought some dollar store bat. for my shop clock and the "bar-b-que" clock on the back porch so I can time the steaks.... shop clock batteries last about 3 weeks.. on the back porch that clock will run, but loses an hour every 3 or 4 days.. need to go back to the copper tops I guess for the outside clocks.
