Hi all hope someone can throw some light on a vacuum pump, I need to know what one I need to vacuum, I already pressure casting, and I'm not too sure on what vacuum pump I need. I'm in the UK if anyone knows any info would be great to help an old man out.

Cheers guys

Many thanks for the reply, as far as I know I think its a low volume.

Merv

I would say that if it is low volume you need then there are plenty of them on ebay that could work. I purchased a 3.8cfm Thomas wobble type pump on ebay about 6 months ago.

If you do a little research on this website, it could possibly give you a little more insight on what you are looking for.

Hope that helps a little more...

Many thanks guys, I am not looking to stabilize timber at all just really de-gassing and removing air-bubbles from the items that I cast.

Many thanks for the info Fred I will take a look
so would a £100.00 pump from ebay do the job?

1: will this one do the job?
2: will I be able to connect to my my paint pot?

Thanks again guys

Any pump for the most part can be made to adapt with the right bits. As far as the gauge that is up to you if you need to see the vacuum thats pulled and if there is a leak you cant tell either with out a gauge. Any Vacuum pump used for Air conditioning work would be more than enough for what you want and be designed for the long run times with out overheating just my salts worth. I would say the one you list should do nicely!!!

Check the medical supply rental shops. I bought a vacuum pump for ten dollars. It will pull 26 HG, has a built in regulator, and gauge.
