Had a couple of requests for slim (not slimline) pens at my last show. Not being a fan of smaller pens, I don't usually make them! I want something that takes either a rollerball or schmitt refill. What is your favorite slim pen to make and sell? Why? 'preciate the input!

I hate making them, but the series 2000 Americana are pretty good sellers for me, also the Americana , they come in Fountain or Roller ball and the double twist is a great selling pen, plus you can get decent platings.

any particular reason?

I hate making slims, but just because i hate making them...not difficult, just don't like 'em.

Jon I just don't like the tenon, on the series 2000 it's not as bad since it goes down to the tube, but the regular Americana has several different lengths. They look good and I get 50.00 and up for them at shows, for an inexpensive capped pen, I think it's about as good as you'll get, they run a couple bucks more than a Baron or Sedona, but they have that classic look, Ernie also has a pretty decent flat top Americana roller ball and or fountain.

I like the Long Click, it's plenty slender in my opinion and take the better Parker refill. And people don't have to ask how to extend the tip.

any more slender, and I'll likely need a metal lathe to go totally kitless since the body will need to be thinner than the kits allow.

I like the streach (Lau - Lau) or the Gran Torino from Arizona Sillhouette as lighter section pens. Have them from both sources - Gold Ti and Rhodium are offered by the respective vendors.

The long barrel gives lots of options for customization and creative efforts.

Also note that the Series 2000 Flat top screw cap parts kits are on special at Az Sil this week.
