I am looking to purchase a pressure pot for resin casting, but I only want to do it once...okay, once more. What pot do you use and would you recommend it, or a different one?
I use a pressure pot made by TCP GLOBAL that has a working max pressure of 90 psi. Check Amazon for 10 liter w/ manual mixing. paint pot. With a little modification of removing the mixing rod and plugging the hole your have a first class pot. All my casting is done a 80 PSI.
Note this pot is all steel and doesn't have alum latching system like HF uses.
I think the Harbor Freight pot does a good job. I think it may be one of the most economical as well. After putting a bit of lube on the gasket, it seals very well and holds it's pressure very well.
I use the HF pot as well, as do 2 of my friends. None of us has ever had a problem with failure and the price makes it hard to beat. There's a thread here somewhere on converting it with parts from Amazon, I think it was less than $40 for the upgrade. I've been using mine for 2.5 years and it's still going strong.
