As the best and fastest growing pen turning site on the 'Net* we have many members who have not experienced an IAP Birthday Bash. It has been suggested/ordered :wink: that I take some time to explain just what the Bash is all about.
Previous Bashes were held around the month of December to celebrate the "birthday" of the founding of the IAP by Jeff and Scott. Last year, they put me in charge of organizing ?? the Bash, so we didn't get around to having the Bash until February!:redface:
To avoid embarrassment to me, the Exalted High Council of the IAP decided to move the Bash permanently to the month of February. This also has the advantage of avoiding conflict between the Bash and the Christmas holidays.
OK, enough excuses. The Bash serves to raise funds to pay the bills and keep the lights on here at the IAP. It also serves as a month long party with lots and lots of fun and prizes. We will have contests involving pen turning, story? telling, trivia and much more.
Your Bash Crew is working behind the scenes to make this, the 6th Birthday Bash the best ever. Once the Bash starts on on February 1st, a calendar of events will be published. Information will be posted on this, the CC Forum and at the Activities Manager Forum.
Remember, the spirit of the Bash is the Spirit of giving and enjoying. For those who win one or more of the prizes that will be offered, consider winning just to be a bit of lagniappe.
