LOML love of my life

hey i see all these abbreviations of words and i dont know what they mean

Like damhik loml lmao could someone educate me

DAMHIKT is Don't Ask Me How I Know This

LOML is Love of my Life. Depending on the relationship, may also be
referred to as SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed)

LMAO means Laughing My Arse Off. Somehow, the British spelling makes
it legal and so much more classy.

oops.. Jon beat me to it. GMTA

Those of us who work in the Airline Industy have been using "secret" Codes for years
Every Industry Has them, the Internest and the texting just made them mainstream

I try my best not to speak airlinese when on line with non speakers but sometimes I slip!

Hahaha....Living in Japan the only English radio I can get for my commute to and from work is Armed Forces Radio. Sometimes I break out laughing at the sheer volume of acronyms they use in their daily discourse.

QFT!

We in the government even have some acronyms that the people who use them have no idea what they stand for. Between the TLA's and the different passwords I have to remember it's amazing that I get anything accomplished.

Acronyms that are used at work are a different thing all together. If you use the acronym in your normal daily speech, there is nothing wrong with it. But I seriously doubt that anyone would say to his neighbor "she who must be obeyed wants me to go to the grocery store"; or "I'm having lunch with the love of my life." If you do, I guess that's great, but I can honestly say that I have never heard anyone use those words. Text acronyms are for 13 year olds with their first cell phones.

Text Acronyms - we better get used to them or at least accept them as fact. it is moving big time to young adults and even into the middle age groups.

I certainly hate writing Bethlehem Olive Wood several times in a post when "BOW" will suffice. Even with the occasional times of having to explain "BOW", it is still easier to abbreviate that. I hate writing "my wife" three or four times in a paragraph when I don't want to publish her name. "LOML" is much easier and mixing the two (LOML, my wife, she) when she is referred to several times along with other people in the same conversation.

I left the airlines 32 years ago and still think of cities in terms of their code.
