I just got this in today. It will explain what I'm up to these days. Like they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. Well this one is worth two thousand, at least. I'm working on veneering and creating furniture for my church. This lot is for my own use though. It'll turn into coffee tables and maybe my new dresser.

Sorry guys,
Actually, it's 8 sheets of waterfall bubinga. I saw David Marks do a coffee table in it on TV and have been drooling over it since. I swore I'd buy some, if I ever found it. Now I have enough for 8 tables, if I cut them in half and bookmatch them (so that two sheets will make two tables).

I'm going to practice on curly cherry and curly anigre first though.:D

It's on a (new) shelf with the faceplate still attached. heh [:p]

I've got a ton of orders that are suffering from my impromptu shop re-org/expansion, and I'm focusing on that stuff. I have so much wood strewn about the house, and I'm milling like a madman to get it into manageable space. I'm taking before and after pictures that I'll eventually post if I get the nerve up to show the 'before' half. It got real ridiculous in here and I about buried myself in boxes, packing peanuts, labels, wood slabs, rough blanks, tools, and pizza boxes (I never cook anymore, all of my kitchen appliances are dedicated shop tools now, down to the range and the toaster oven).

I couldn't take the mess anymore and decided to take the time to be able to increase production without killing myself under an avalanche of material or burning the house down from accumulated clutter.

I lost a five gallon bucket of resin in here the other day...most people lose like a bushing, but not me, nope! Thank God I park the truck outside or I'd have had to go car shopping...

Rob, that is some beautiful bubinga! I don't think I've ever seen prettier veneer, it's just stunning! :)

Rob, I think you;re pulling our legs. That looks like strips of bacon to me. (I found a place that sells chocolate covered bacon strips - not sure if it sounds good or not[:p])

Please show us pictures of your bacon-veneered tables when they are done.

Chris ;)

I noticed some splitting on one end, from shipping, so I contacted the seller and bought 7 more pieces. They were a great price, so I didn't ask for anything back.
