When I logged on this morning the front page was showing 6,013 total members.

Four hours later, when I logged on again, the front page now shows 6,009 total members.

Did we lose people?

Jeff can be a tough "taskmaster".

Must have excommunicated another foursome!!

Check your e-mail, maybe you don't exist any more!!!

(Yes, this is a joke - but I suspect Jeff will tell you soon. I'm convinced he has a bot that checks for his name in threads - cause he shows up shortly after I use his name in vain!!!)

unknown to the masses there has been a secret society brewing in the back ground. This group has decided that due to general frustration in choosing a preferred CA finish method, Disagreements about just what is best in the way of lathes, turning tools or just about anything else pen related. and A general drop in overall quality of the average post around here. It has been decided that we will actually reduce the member count as new people begin to actually post opinions and advice. This more clearly reflects the expected benefit of actually asking questions etc.

We, the Illuminati of the IAP, will take care of this situation in our own time.

BTW, did you know that if you fold a dollar just right that it won't work in a vending machine? Is this just coincidence? I don't think so.!!

Sorry to be slow to answer!

That user count includes people who have confirmed their email address, but whom I have not yet approved as members. Some of those are spammers and when I delete them, the user count goes down.

I have installed a whole bunch of stuff to protect us from the dirty spammers, but some still get through to the point where I look at their membership and approve or deny them. Just today, 103 rotten, miserable, loser, stinking spammers have been blocked from registering. Fortunately, only a 5 got to the point where I have to deal with them.

Can you tell they are not my favorite people?

Dang Jeff!!!!!!

The conspiracy theorists were fun. Now you've gone and ruined it with a malicious rendition of the truth.

Thanks a lot!

Jeff; You should allow them, but ban them from posting. That way we could send them emails telling them how much we hate them!

On a serious note; I hope you send emails to their ISP and BAN their ISP from access. The company I worked for banned all of Africa, some countries in Asia and southeast Asia, and most of the former soviet union.

Ken, I think that Guyana grape kool aid would be pretty old by now. I'm not sure if kool aid can go bad but I think you should throw it out I wouldn't want you to get sick trying to drink it.
