I spoke with him last night and he is pouring resin and catching up with things. Please give him a chance to get everything in order and you will be turning his blanks before you know it. He started a new job and is trying to get into a routine again, he will be back with us very soon.

What Johnnie said.
Karl is true to his word. Circumstances he is living through may cause blanks to be late, but you will indeed get them.

I'm just glad his new job is working out. Times are tough out there and I hope he starts posting again. Everyone here is like family so it's great therapy for when the times get tough. Worse thing you can do is clam up. I'm sure he's just busy with all the new changes. Karl is a trooper!!

Very true and being on this very same situation lately myself...I can relate. However, it is also difficult (even for blabber mouth like me) to always share our "trials". Some (or most) may understand, others may take it as whining.

Life changes can really rob us of time spending with friends and family...but we are always here nevertheless. It is heartwarming when people notice these type of changes though and misses our fellow members. [^] Hope not just for the awesome blanks though LOL :D[}:)]

Dario my man! Long time no see. Hope everything is going better now. I went through the same situation you just went through several years ago. Hopefully we see you around here more now. Every time I go through my blnks I always come across some I got from you. Plus my every day desk pen is from a piece of American Chestnut burl I got from you a few years ago. I even have the letter of authenticity hanging on the wall. :)

Dario,
Assuming you've gotten settle into the Austin neighborhood... how do you like Austin??

If I ever move back to Texas, I think I would head to that area... my son is at Bastrop, but works in Austin. He's said he wouldn't live anywhere else.

Chuck,

I love Austin and so does my family. Bear in mind that I haven't been to many other places so I really don't have much to compare it with other than San Antonio and Edinburg.

Housing cost a bit higher but there are tons of things to do (cheaply). Depending on your life style, there are lots of activities that can be done for free. If you love nature, there are an abundance of sprawling parks, lakes and rivers that basically are available year round. I think I have 5 parks within 15 mile radius of my apartment. I am told that a couple of them are more than 300 acres each!!! (obviously, the parks extend out of that radius LOL). People look health conscious and are pretty active.

Can't talk much about sporting events, concerts, plays, clubs, etc. but I know they have lots of those here too.

People are also very friendly and even though I am Asian, I never felt treated differently. Do watch where you go, I've heard that there are places/neighborhoods to avoid. I normally do not generalize but I am advised unanimously to avoid the East side (of I-35).

Hope this helps.
