This is a question concerning web etiquette. What do you do when someone emails you and when you respond, you receive an error message back that a fatal error occurred and your message cannot be delivered. Or a message that you have been blocked by their server.

If you know another way to reach them (like posting on a common forum) have them email you their phone number so you can call and talk the old fashioned way. It isn't always them, sometimes it is their ISP that is blocking you.

The way I see it if someone emails me about anything they should do everything in their power to be able to receive my email back to them, whether they have to disable their spam blocker or put me on their safe list. I shouldn't have to jump through hoops to have to answer an email.

I don't know much about e-mail.

When I e-mail you, your address goes in my address book. Doesn't that mean your address is registered with my e-mail program and, therefore, it is NOT spam???

So I don't understand how this COULD happen?????!!!!

Again, it isn't always them. My domain was blocked by Verison. No user on Verison could receive mail from my domain no matter what they did. We had to call verison in person to get them to unblock it before people could receive mail again. (Some spammer had sent millions of emails "From:" {randomname}@ketell.com as the "sender" and verison, rather than doing research, simply blocked ketell.com.)

So, don't take offense. I may not be you or them. And there may be nothing THEY can do. It might be something you or your ISP has to do.

Usually there in more info in the error message that will give you a hint. If you like, PM me with the error message and I will try to interpret it for you.

Some people also use these stupid things that require you to fill out some idiotic form in order to send email. People who use that and send me email genuinely p*** me off.

Cover yourself, save the message you got when the email never got delivered.

When or if they get back in touch you can show you tried to respond to them.

You and Me Both.

I give them one chance, if it doesn't work, I delete the email and forget about it.

I'm glad to see others feel the same as I do. It's a PITA trying to reply to someone about an order they placed through PayPal and the email address, which is supplied through PayPal, bounces back.
I don't feel I should have to fill out some form in order to get my business email to them.

Harold, it wasn't you.
It was Peggy Boushard. If anyone knows her, please let her know that the last two emails I sent were bounced back to me.

If it's just casual converstaion, forget it and move on. If it is important business, use another means of communication. That's what we did before e-mail. The e-world is full of glitches. Don't sweat it.
