Ok. So this what worthless wood is. Really freaking cool looking. Is it tough to turn or can a rank amateur do it.

Just checked that website and none available. In fact nothing in the blanks section at all.

That site is MesquiteMan, whose dad just went through a series of illnesses and ultimately passed. In the next couple weeks, Curtis hopes to get product up on his site as well as sending some to Exotics --he was one of our "founding partners".

So, watch both sites--with luck there will be a nice selection!!

It is very easy to turn...it is cast with alumillite which in my experience is very easy to turn.

try www.woodturnerscatalog.com I think I saw some there the other day, Curtis may be selling through them these days.

Jim

If memory serves me correctly Curtis only sells his blanks through his own site or Exotics. CSUSA is not (to my best knowledge) a seller of Curtis's blanks.

That is correct, CSUSA is using a different source--as is WoodCraft.

I know the ones sold by WoodCraft are noticably different quality---I don't know about CSUSA

FWIW

I don't know about CSUSA but you sure notice a big difference in prices if you shop Woodcraft as compared to a member on this site! Heck..I was at a Woodcraft a while ago and saw coffee blanks for $20 !

I turned my first one the other day and it was trouble free. I was a little nervous since it was more expensive (and prettier) than any thing I had turned so far but it all worked out. I got it from Ankrom Exotics as well.
