Well while I was in Big Bear Ca. this weekend with the LOML, I stopped at a tool shop to see what they had on sale since there seems to be a lot of wood workers up there. While there PENS came in to the conversation (as it always does) and the lady (owner / sales person) asked if I would have any use for some acrylics. She said that her and her husband (who is a woodworker) had some that they decided that they would never use. So I went over to their house after she closed, and as I was looking at the acrylics (mostly clear) I was talking to her husband he asked if I could use some "RED WOOD" Burl. I said sure what do you have, and he pointed to TWO large chunks laying next to a wood pile (for his fire place) and said that he hardly ever has a use for it. So we settled on $30 for the acrylics and this chunk of burl.
Now the BIG Problem!! My band saw is not big enough to cut it so I had to cut this piece with a hand saw.![Roll Eyes  ](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
He even threw in some chunks of black walnut.![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
