It's probably worth at least a few times a year.. You may find someone there traveling from Lansing or Kzoo and start having a meeting or two closer. Joining a chapter one of the best things you can do to advance your skills, besides taking a class at Arrowmont or John C Campbell folk school.

I know of at least one penturner in the Grand Rapids area. Not sure he's an IAP member. I will investigate and report back.

I know Wayland. I have a Service Dog trained by Paws With a Cause which is headquartered in Wayland. She is my second PAWS dog. My first dog, Travis, died May 6, 2010 from Hemangiosarcoma - a Canine Cancer.
