If I know or suspect it's going to be translucent, I'll paint the blank and tube, and color the epoxy.

Well, I tried again. I painted the blank and tube, and colored the epoxy this time. But alas, I got a crack in the blank. So I'll start over yet again, but I'm going to use wood this time. No more acrylic with this one. I think the pen kit is cursed.

I had a blank failure with the same blank. It did go translucent and it had air bubbles close to the tube.

Sorry to be picky but the grain leads my eye towards the centre band , was that intentional as it doesn't then "flow" towards the nib?
