I talked to a family friend yesterday and introduced her to my work. I gave her a pen in trade for a NICE Maple tree that i will be chopping down this fall (That will be a whole different thread... Anyone want some free maple in Oklahoma?)

Anyway, after talking for a little bit, she asked me how much i sold pens for. I gave her a quick rundown. She mentioned something about Christmas gifts. I told her that i could get a small discount if i bought ten or more at a time and if i needed to, I could buy myself a few toround her order up to ten. Then she sprung it on me...

"Oh no, I need 40 of them."

My instant reaction:

:biggrin::eek::biggrin::eek::cool::confused::eek::party::party::party::beat-up::hypnotized::giggle::good:

I made a few good sized orders last year getting ready for a show, but that was all inventory for the show. This is the first time anyone has made an order anywhere near that size from me! It is nice to have your work appreciated!

Sorry... Just had to share with someone that could understand!

Congrats on the sale and the maple tree. I'd love some maple, but I think we're a long way apart in Oklahoma. Looking forward to seeing what you get out of that tree.

Congrats on the order. That's awesome.

Good luck with the maple. I look forward to seeing your harvest.

Thank you! And yes indeed! It made me feel good. I ordered the kits earlier today. Got Gold Ti. slimline kits! Now i just gotta get my rump to work!

Enid isn't that far is it? I am an hour SW of OKC. Might be worth a trip down! This tree isn't huge by any means, but it isn't tiny either. Surely enough wood for several people to enjoy!

You (Or anyone else) are more than welcome to come visit and take a truckload home! Of course it will be this fall when it happens..

COnsidering the amount of time you do talking/posting on this site you might want to start now. You may be pushed to finish them by CHristmas:biggrin: COngratulations on the sale, Mike

LOL You may be sick of them by the time you get 40 made. I made 30 comfort pens once from 200 year old poplar and I was sure tired of 200 year old poplar before I got through! Maybe you can use different woods to keep you from getting bored! Nice order!

Ron,

Congratulations of the large sale. It is nice to have someone appreciate your work and be willing to pay for it. I, on the other hand, am getting real good at giving my stuff away LOL.

Been there, got the T shirt!

I did that for three years before i finally started selling anything. I tried to sell stuff here and there, but everybody wanted the buddy deal (FREE). I still give stuff away, just not near as often now.

Congrats! And Rich, YOU'RE BACK!!!!!!!! The avatar, it's just.................. you.

Congratulations on the big sale! It has to make you feel good that you make something that others appreciate enough to give as a gift.

I don't know who Rich is, unless you are just messin with me which does happen from time to time (I seem to be a good target for that:biggrin:).

My name is Ralph. Or is it Rodney. Maybe Roland?:confused:

My wife calls me AS,,,,, Oh wait this is a family site... Anyone ever hear the song by Dennis Leary? The one about him driving really slow in the ultrafast lane, while the people around him are going insane!? Cause his wife must call him the same thing my wife calls me!

Sorry, had to have some fun with it...

Ron (Yes, that is my name)

"Rich" stems from the liars thread, I called you that there and have just been 'funnin' ever since.

Hey you! Rich! Ralph! oh...................R***O***N, or Mr. RADams sir!:tongue:

But in all sincerity, that pen sale is super cool.
