And I am shuffling snow every day. Want some of it ? I can send it to your by UPS.

What a nice photos. Better not showing them to my kids, or will be running to the pet shop. They have this great idea that a rabbit-pet is missing in our family.

I spent two years in Mexico, in the inland areas that are too hot and boring to be tourist spots. Those were "every day" temperatures. But hey, we didn't have koalas... just iguanas. Why is it that pretty much all of the coolest animals are down under?

HOT

When I was stationed in Yuma AZ, it wasn't uncommon to have 115-120 on the flightline under the plane.

I can feel for you. And yes, it was dry heat!:smile-big:

We have got some friends who live just out of Melbourne, they were saying that due to everybody running thier Air-con systems, the electricity company had to turn off the power, before everybody burnt the substations out. Hope you are managing to find somewhere a bit cooler.

Tim I used to live in Welton outside of Yuma. Any time you look at a weather map at the hottest part of the US that area shows up. 120 in the summer isn't uncommon. I get tickled at how many times you hear that but it's a dry heat. So is my oven, care to stick your head in it, is what I tell them.

watching the news this morning and it deosn't look good hope my friend Fred ( Bigshed ) is safe as Bendigo got is fire too, he may give some update himself

YIKES!! Boy, I hope Fred is OK. He's my pen swap partner. Let's pray I still have an address to send my pen to.

Yeah mate, everything OK here, fries got to within about 20-25km of us, thankfully no closer.

Saturday was a horrid day, 47C, 55mph northern winds, dust storms, even the birds were suffering and trying to get inside the (airconditioned) house.

Saturday was the culmination of 3 weeks of temperatures over 40C with night time temps not falling much below 27C.

We just had e-mail from our HR dept that we are sending a 6th sky crane down to help with the fire. I pray for all the people in the area, that are affected, that they would be ok.
