After reading a few more posts about stabilizing I was wondering what do you all use to weight your blanks down to the bottom of the jar. I was not sure if metal would react when placed in the solution.

I am currently experimenting with minwax wood hardener and corncobs and some real soft, splated, unknown wood. I have boat loads of 1 1/2" washers (garage sale find FREE) that would work but did not know if the metal would cause a problem.

Thanks
JW

Hi Jesse; Anytime I use the wood hardener, I just throw the blanks in there. They will sink in time when they suck up the hardener.

Hi again Jesse; I also drill my blanks prior to putting them in wood hardener.
