I ABSOLUTELY love my grill like that! When I want to just quickly grill something without messing with charcoal, I use the gas section. When I want to get the best flavor, I use the charcoal section with a little mesquite scrap thrown in! I don't have the smoker section since I have a separate dedicated smoker and did not have the extra room for it. Great grill!

I just got it all together and now I'm ready to season it. Any recommendations on going about it?

On the good side, They actually use a cooking oil as the rust preventer in the packaging.

Mike,

Just follow the directions that came with the grill. I believe they recommend getting it hot and then wiping on vegetable oil if I recall correctly. I followed their directions and have not had any rust problems. One suggestion, though...buy the cover that is made for that grill. If TSC does not have one, Lowes most likely will. It is not real cheap but it is well made and worth every penny to protect your investment.

thanks for the advice on the grill. The only time this guy will be outdoors is when in use/cool-down. All other times it will be in either the garage or shed (once I build a patio to grill out near the shed.)

Sunday around noon I'm thinking....... Got to go to Lowes tonight and swap out my two tanks for fresh ones.

Lillian bought some meat today and I have a Pork Butt to thaw (hope its still good).

Planning on getting it good and hot tomorrow.

The thing takes up more room than my riding mower, but it's a tank. The only way I could see of improving this thing would be slightly thicker steel, but its heavy enough already.

Just found this forum with lots of great info and recipes. http://www.thesmokering.com/forum/index.php
