weathered oak helmt designs

hello folks

here are a few new helmet designs, they have been left outside for a few weeks and have been covered in snow, rained on and finally a bit of sunshine too!!
They are all made from oak and some have metal patches or rivets
they vary in size between 2 3/4" and 5 1/4"

Very cool helmets! Each have a character of its own. Like the metal patches and the worn out look of the wood. Excellent work George!

What is the story behind all the helmets? I love them, but I'm betting there is a great story behind them.

Initially the idea came about after seeing a helmet on a shelf in the background of a TV show, I thought it looked cool and was pretty sure I could make something similar. But having now spent some time researching helmets and looking into the subject more and having these helmets and images around me they have taken on a life of their own and they seem to mean different things to different people.

For me personally they symbolise protection and a barrier to the outside world.

Those are awesome looking helmets.
Really like the staples in the 1st one, and the patch on the 3rd one along with the design.
