Our son and daughter-in-law, just had their first baby, a girl Aurelia Joy. Our son is stationed in South Carolina with the Marine Corp and is heading to the Middle East in April, which will be extending his enlistment. He was in special training but was allowed to be there for the birth and has since returned to Camp Lejeune.:( He now has one more reason to come home in one piece:D

Aurelia makes us first time grandparents! Since we are on the opposite coast, we are trying to figure out how to get back there or have them come our way. One way or the other, we are anxious to meet our granddaughter!

... now about the Honored Citizen menu...;)

Congrats, Dave! Our youngest son is also at Camp LeJeune and due to go back over in April. That's about the same time his 2nd (and our 11th grandchild) is due.

Thank your son for us!

Congrats Dave.. beautiful child..
I appreciate your son's sacrifice for his country, but wish he didn't have to go. I'm glad both of my boys have completed their training and service. My step-son did 8 years in the army and was training the boys who went to desert storm. My son did 5 years as a linguist and did his tour in Korea.

11?!! I got my work cut out to catch up;)

Joshua is set to head over in April as well. Maybe they are in the same unit? Josh volunteered and was transfered out of Ordinance to a new unit providing security of sorts.

What's your sons name... I will ask Josh about him!

Gorgeous!! We have four grandsons -- I'll be glad when the day comes (5 or six years from now) when the youngest gives us a granddaughter.

LOL, Dave, I probably have more kids (5) so catching up may not be what you want. ;)

My son's name is John. He's currently a mortarman. He would also have to extend to go over, but he recently told me he's re-enlisting. He wants to go to special ops (crazy kid!). I'd ask him if he knows Josh, but I haven't been able to contact him since Christmas (not unusual for him). He'll call when he needs something.[:0]

,, he..he..he Got ya beat on the kids... we have 7... youngest just started kindergarten... long, long story...;) There is a 16 year gap between 5 year old Abigail and the next youngest! Of the other six (three girls and three boys), only three are married, and we "think" one is at least "trying" :) but not sure. I think your lead is safe:D

I'll ask Josh about your son...
