In case anyone is interested, the past month Home Depot has been selling off their Watco Danish oil that they carry which is in pint cans. It was $7.99 and they started selling for $1.90 and now it is as low as 10¢. I use this stuff all the time and have scoured all of central NJ. Might be worth a visit. Makes for a real nice finish.

I wonder why so cheap, is there something wrong or is it being replaced by something better?

Home Depot is not carrying it any more. I was told by a manager in Lowes one time when I was looking for Deft spray lacquer, that there is only so much shelf space and all these vendors compete for the space and if that product is not selling it is dumped. These vendors get leases and I figure that was not selling well for them.

WDO hasn't had the marketing behind it that Minwax puts behind their products.

I still have furniture I put together and finished when I was 12 (my first project!). All done with WDO.

(My mom's boyfriend at the time worked in a furniture factory and taught me a little...)

Wish I had known this 2 days ago... I just was up at Lowe's looking for sanding sealer, wipe on polyurethane and spray lacquer.... Home Depot is just down the street from Lowe's and I could have saved a few $$$.

I like the Watco products.. they do a nice job on my bowls and pepper mills. It was getting harder to find and I've switched to the wipe on poly for the peppermills...

I need to go up to see my gallery owner friend next week... maybe I can stop in to the HD... we go right past on our way to the city.

It's not that way at all HD's. I stopped at mine today and they were still selling it at full price.

If interested I would keep an eye on it. It could go at any time and you can be the first. This is a nation wide thing because Home Depot is going green. There is word that they will do away with all oils.
