If you are a serious knife maker and are interested in doing some product testing for me, please send me a PM. I am in the process of creating cactus knife scales and could use a couple of "beta" testers to evaluate and give me feedback on the scales. I would really like someone who has made a number of knives and that possibly sells knives on occasion. Thanks!

Someone here has a father that makes NICE knives. You may want to try some keyword searches....

I sent this link to a knifemaker from Rowlette, TX , in the DFW metro mess area, that I know. He is makes his own blades and has pretty good following from Texas hunters.

I work with a guy who's father makes knives as his hobby. He has made them for YEARS, but he is in his 70's I believe, and now he only makes them occasionally. If you don't get enough interest, I could inquire to him about one of these if you would like. I don't know what kind of time frame you are on though, if any.

I've made one knife, I have plans to make another (filet knife for my father). So I don't think I'm a great candidate for your product testing, but I would like to be notified when you make these available as I think they would make very interesting handles.

I was thinking about putting this set together, but I could be persuaded to change my mind.

Curtis,

I met a custom knifemaker at a gun show here in Austin back in November. His name is Davie Boultinghouse (of Bangs Texas, wherever that is) and he makes some beautiful knives. The link below references an article in Texas Parks and Wildlife's magazine.

From what I saw at the gun show, he could do justice to those great cactus scales you are working with!

pm sent, have a couple of mick spain blanks left to handle I should really post some of the ones I have made. I am presently making a tzutan handled blade at the while in the woodlore styles as shown the knife has Tzutan handle and is prior to shaping and final polishing up. the Mick spain blanks are of the highest order metalwork and will be furnished in Huanghuali and Jichimu a I dont believe that any one else has used these timbers before in knife making before and they sure do look pretty. as it happens I have some knife making blanks for handle in these timbers if anyone else would like some?
