I was just out in the yard this evening with the digital camera and decided to take some pics of some of the cactus on my property. I have 15 acres of this stuff! This one in particular is 5'6" tall!

Here is one that is growing in a tree in my front yard!

This one is actually growing very well and is about 5' off the ground in a hollow! That happens fairly often around here since the birds eat the fruit of the cactus and then sit in the trees and relieve themselves of the seeds!

Anyway, now you you guys can see how and why I came up with the cactus pen...I needed to get rid of some of this cactus some how! We are being over run!

Hmmmm,

What's your address Curtis? Perhaps I can put some of my old Army training to use and make a "clandestine" visit. [}:)]

Don,

Even though I have plenty of cactus and it is a nusance around here, I have a hard time with cutting up some of the nice old cactus just for pens. I only use pieces that have already died naturally. They say some of these, like the one in the top pic, are 75-100 years old supposedly. There is plenty of cactus around here not to need to chop down the live old stuff.
