It's been a long time since we had a meeting at my place so I'll ask if you all would like to hold one? I've decided that I won't be doing any shows this summer so any week-end in June looks good for me:wink: . I'll supply the burgers again and we can grill out, and I might be able to talk the owner of Classics into a door prize or two:rolleyes:.
Shawnee is centrally located in Oklahoma and as before we do invite our neighbors from North Texas, Southern Missouri and Western Arkansas.
My shop is small but well equipped so if we want we could hold so demos.

Anything but the first weekend is great. I'm on the waiting list for two shows in Kansas that weekend. Look forward to it.
 
Sounds great! I'd love to meet some other pen turners. I can also host any OKC meetups at my group's hackerspace, Ohmspace. We have about 15,000 square feet of shop to do stuff with. If anyone wants to check the space out, we have open nights on Tuesday evenings starting at 7:00.

I'd love to make it, but it would be a last minute thing for me… Summer is my busiest time at work, but I shall do my best… I'll follow this thread for details.

I don't know Roy, but I'll bet we can be friends.

I was assigned to Git-mo for a couple of years...That is where the old fashioned Marine Corps is, and had cubans of many varieties smuggled onto the post. Of course I had to share them. I was hoping you would do the same??? J/K

I would like to attend. I live in the Tulsa area, so it isn't that far. Just let me know when.

I'd love to come out and get to meet everybody. With my work schedule I would only be able to come the 9th, 10th, or 17th. Looking forward to it.

As stated above, I'd like to attend. The north Texas chapter is holding a meeting May 5th. So if it could be after that it would be great. I'd also like to invite anybody that would like to attend to come on down..... love to have ya join us~~
 
Well it's a long trip ( about a mile ) but worth it, so I'd be happy to come. I'll bring what ever you need for refreshments (soda, chips, etc ) just let me know.

Looks like it will be in the middle to late June as I have to go to Florida and take care of my parents. Seems Dad is getting worse and Mom is also at times forgetting her meds and making sure he gets his.Looks like we might have to place them in an assistant living.
 
If all who plan to attend would PM me I will post a list. I'll supply the burgers, hot dogs, buns and have Dee make her famous potato salad. If you drink something special bring it, I'll have diet pepsi and also throw back pepsi for those that drink soda.
 
Come on all you Okies, so far we have more Texans coming the us.....June 23rd from anytime after 9AM until you want to leave, Lunch served, and anyone that wants to demo.

So far we have more Texans that have confirmed than Okies.The date is set for the 23rd. of June. I will supply the burgers,hot dogs, buns, diet soft drinks and Dee's famous potatoe salad. If you need to drink some thing other than diet soda we will have Ice Tea also. Please PM me if you plan to come and how many in your party as wives and childred are welcome, so I will have enough to feed all. Time will be from 10AM until the last person leaves :biggrin:. Bring some your pens for showing off

What about a blank exchange or something like that, do yall do that?
 
A blank exchange would work fine if everyone would bring couple of blanks, one to exchange and one for me:wink::biggrin::rolleyes:! Just kidding, bring a few to exchange a great idea. "Classics" will provide a few door prizes also.

I don't know if Martin can do a demo. I havent seen him turn on anything smaller than a yellow monster. But when he does, it turns out wonderful. Very creative man.
 
Anyone that will do a demo we have two Jet mini lathes and a 7x14 metal lathe so done be bashful:biggrin:
