Thanks to James(Draken) and his lovely wife for being such great hosts. Was nice to see the few I have met and great to meet the others. We had a great time and great eats. MDWine will probably post some better pictures, but here are a few to get started. Some names withheld to protect my bad memory.

Wow, looks like you guys had a great time, I'm jealous! I just think it's great you guys can get together at an eaturnparty [;)][:D]

The Mrs. and I had a fantastic time! It was worth the drive from Chesapeake.

It was a real pleasure to meet folks and put faces to names. A big thank you to James and family for hosting the event.

We had a blast - James, thanks again to you and yours for opening up your hoe to us! I'm really jealous of your shop, Beth was jealous of Shelli's scrapbooking area, and I think Alex was more than a little jealous of Elizabeth's back yard! [:D] It was great to see some old friends again, and to be able to put some faces to the screen names!

The wife (Shelli) and I are glad everyone had a great time, we enjoyed ourselves as well. It was great reconnecting with old friends, and being able to make new ones. Thank you for the photos Bruce, they came out great! I'd like to give special thanks to my wife for making all this happen, as I was out of town on a business trip the M-F leading up to this party. You all are welcome back anytime!

Frank did stay for a while after everyone else left, so I finished roughing out the bowl that we all started during the hands on tutorial. We'll get to see what it looks like after it dries, about 6 months. I also roughed out a bowl blank this morning that Frank gave me, so we'll see how that one turns out in a few months as well. It started to check on the outside surface lightly while I was hollowing it, so I hope it survives!

Looks like y'all had a blast but
JimGo
James, thanks again to you and yours for opening up your hoe to us!
[:0] Holy smokes; it sure looked like a family event. [}:)][)] [;)]

Lookin' forward to when it cools down and I can host another of these in Florida.

Gary

I also thank our lovely hosts. I had a great time matching faces with logons. I am inspired to do some work if and when the time comes my way. James, and James (Jimmie) the shop was also inspiring, and very well organized. "A" I salute you.
thanks again

Ken

Thanks to EVERYONE!
Thanks to the DRAKEN's for hosting, for everyone that brought food, and to everyone for being so much fun!
Thanks to Frank for the tutorial!

I hope to have Verizon repair my DSL soon (no laughing Eileen!!) to get pic's posted.

No, the pieces of the acrylic had nothing to do with that. Who would have thought, however, that the power for the whole neighborhood could be cut off by a lil'ole piece of plastic !! [:p]

I'm switching from 65.00 a month cable to 35.00 a month DSL, if VERIZON can get there "stuff" together! We'll see...

OK, I'm terrible with names, and thus I can't recall the first two on the left! I know Jimmy (Draken's BIL) is in the maroon shirt 3rd from the left (don't think he has a login here), then we have EMacrell, CarverKen, BigRob777, and BRobbins629.

On the left in white is Scott (Blind_Squirrel) and behind him wearing the hat is Dennis (Dwberry). Missing from this photo, but shown in some of the other photos are Lou, Jim, Michael, Frank and myself.

Best to ask Bruce for sure, but I think just over an hour. It's about an hour south of DC, if the traffic is moving OK.

Depends on where in Richmond, but lets assume Richmond as being the 78 Mile marker on I95, Stafford is Mile marker 143, so only 65 miles or so. Pretty much the hour drive that JimGo mentioned. Feel free to adjust the MM for Richmond as needed, I'm guestimating it. [:)]
