Andrew, click on the bottom link in his signature. A webcam is normally one that is attached to your computer and then broadcast over the Internet sometimes in real time. In other words, you could have one that is pointed on your lathe and every time you use your lathe it would broadcast it over the Internet. It is also used for a lot of other activities, some of them good, some not so good. Some people use them to blog with or talk over the Internet to other people on their webcam.

The only problem with that is that I dont get to go in the shop any spicific times, just when I get the time so I do a web cast at randon and post about 30 mins before I get out there. But I love to do the shows, I get alot of feed back on some and other times I get 1-2 viewers. I have fun with it!

That is a great idea! :)
Have you considered turning between centers? I wonder how many woodturners out there think (as I did) that they would have to invest in a mandrel in order to try pen turning. With your web cast you have the potential to educate many outside of the IAP. Turning the Sierra style between centers would be very easy ... provided you have a 60 degree dead center of course. Just a thought. (I have them randomly)

Thanks Lenny, I have not turned pens between centers yet. I use Ustream to broadcast so you need to sign up for it to chat with me when I broadcast. Its free to use but you do have to sign up....
