There it is in action. Seems to work quite well. The camera did its best to stabilize the image and make it quit shaking. I added the extra weight to it, and have it powered, and it seems like it got the air worked out. I only had enough resin left to try a Sierra blank, and that's finishing its curing in the basement because it looks like it could rain soon, and it was firm enough to pull from the mold about 20 minutes after I poured it. I was going for a black/Macropearl mix that hopefully has some hefty swirls buried in it. Also, it's a little wired hearing myself speak on video. I sound like THAT much like a nerdy redneck???

And final result: I still had a couple of tiny bubbles, nothing that couldn't easily be finished out. I didn't get the Macropearl stirred in sufficiently, so that was a very likely source of the problem. The blank looked rough with the large white blotches on it, and I can trace that back to having a lot less resin in the cup than I'm used to and I didn't quite dial the powder back far enough. I cut it back a good bit, but it still wasn't as far as it needed to be, and I needed to stir more. It looked good before I pored it, but live and learn. And as that was the last few drops of fiberglass resin, now I wait for a re-supply.

And there's the turned blank. I really did a bad job stirring it......

Thanks! At least if it doesn't work out I didn't sink any money into it. And I got to attack one of the Ex-wife's CDs with a bandsaw. And destroy an old CD player.
