Vertical tube in casting

I am looking for information about vertical tube in casting. I understand there is a tutorial, but am having no luck finding one.

Seamus- Thanks for the prompt. I placed an introduction on the introductions page.
I have been casting in a pvc pipe, as the video in the post above shows, but I do love the idea of using a glove finger to close the pipe. I have been using blue painters tape.
I want to cast tube-in in a pvc pipe. At this point my plan is to get a large stopper that will close the end of my 3/4 inch pvc and carve the short end of the stopper to plug my pen tube. I will update the thread with results

I use corks from lowes to plug the end with, just get the right size for your pvc.

take the corks out of the picture cuz they will hold air, unless you are using pressure, but i would recommend using a silicone plug instead or what about a pvc cap?

Yep, i use a pressure pot.

I use plugs not corks. Similar to the plugs that Fred (Ptownsubbie) uses in his molds.

okay, John gave me the go ahead.

Attached are his pics which are pretty self explanatory.

Two silicon plugs in the end of the tube. He uses a delrin plug for the outer tube with a nail to hold the base silicon plug centered. I made my plugs from silicon putty which bonded with the silicon tube plug. Then the wire to hold the top silicon plug centered.

John orders 1 inch clear tubes, I grab T-8 bulb protectors from Lowes which are about 1.25 inch.

My set up was all CaptG. Gary is the Master! I just came up with the wires to stop the tubes from falling over in the tubes.

Lol, yep, what you can't see is that I stepped on it and broke part of it but CA glued it back together. Someday I'll find time to remake one.

Thanks for the info. I got some stoppers like pk uses in his molds big ones to stop the bottom of the pvc mold and little ones to plug the pen tube. when the latesst pen kit order comes in I will test the set up out.

Bit of a thread revival, just wondering what material the clear tubes are that are shown in the pics? Have silicon corks, just can't work out a suitable clear tube!!

They are flourescent light bulb protector sleeves, we got one at the big blue home improvement store. There are two sizes, we got the thinner one.

To further update the thread, Jen hasn't tried anything with this yet.
