vacuum pump help

Ran across this on ebay and was curious what those that do stabilizing might think about it. I'm mainly going to be doing small batches of wood blanks and some dying.

My opinion...too much money for not enough vacuum. The best Gast I have seen produces 27" Hg at sea level. Gast makes a GREAT pump, don't get me wrong. It is just they are not super deep vacuum pumps. There is a BIG difference in the amount of air removed by that extra couple of inches of vacuum. You could actually get a better vacuum by using an old refrigerator compressor for a lot less money, possibly even free.
