As I am new at this, I have had my best results using pressure and alumilite. However, I just picked up a vacuum pump. Presently, I am casting "worthless wood" blanks with pressure. I was curious as to whether starting the cast with vacuum then switching to pressure would be even better? How do you "pros" do it?

Thanks,

Don't waste your time with vacuum and alumilite. You DO NOT have enough time. Just use good old pressure and you will get the best results. The more pressure the better wtih "Worthless Wood". I use 80 psi and get 99% no voids, even in complex pieces. Higher pressure is not needed if you are doing labels and skins but certainly helpful with WW.

If you have any more questions, feel free to PM me and I will send you my phone number. It is easier to discuss some things by phone.
