Vacationing in Southern California

I'll be vacationing with my family in the San Diego/Los Angeles area from Feb 1st to Feb 9th.

Does anyone know of interesting places to get turning material or would any fellow penturners in the area be interested in meeting up? I looked on the member map and did not see any entries in the area, maybe everyone's too busy basking on the beaches to turn pens.[}]

If you're in San Diego, go to the zoo. It is genuinely world class, in fact you can spend an entire day at Balboa Park where the zoo is located.

We've already got a whole day planned for the zoo. We're doing Disneyland on two days, the zoo and Seaworld each get a day to themselves.

Unfortunately, I'd be more likely to be harmed in Baltimore, a stone's throw away from where I live, than in LA. We'll be staying with family in a safe(r) area of town. Thanks for your concern, though.

Hi Jason, you might try Knotts Berry Farms. If you are going up to LA, look up Universal City, City Walk and Magic Mountain if you like rollor coasters. By the way, crime in down in LA. Have a good time.
