Vacationing in Ohio

I'll be camping with my family near Aurora Ohio next week (yeah, vacation!) and wanted to know if anyone from the area knows of any good penturning/woodturning related places I should try to get to while I'm there. TIA.

Brea Hardwoods, Pens kits [] is in Brea Ohio Cleveland if that is any where close to Aurora [8D]

I think Aurora is near Cincinatti. Not sure though. I know I have been through there but cant remember where.


funny i have lived here in for 10 years and dont know. I usually just look online and find a place and go. But there are a couple of decent stores in the Cinci area. I have stopped by from time to time.

You could go a little further to Port Clinton and hop on the jet express to putin bay..nothing turnning related but a great place..caves, wine makeres, bars worlds largest geode ,..its called the key west of the north..but its still ok for families.
If you could make it down here to pittsburgh let me know

Dean, Aurora is actually near Cleveland.

Jason, Pen Man is right, Berea is not too far from where you'll be.

hmmm ok I was thinking of something else than. Not surprising though for me at times.

Well then go to Port Clinton and than go on to Cedar Point.

Thanks for the info. Cedar Point will have to wait for another year when the kids are older and can ride the coasters with me. []

Cedar Point has Camp Snoopy, plenty of rides for smaller children, plus shows, a water park and access to the lake.

There is Geuga lake (spelling?) in Aurora, also owned by Cedar Point. Used to be part of the old Sea World.
