My 1st attempt at both nibless construction and "V" segmenting. This is a 7mm slimline made of Texas Mesquite with an yellow dyed box elder burl and aluminum. The nib is bigger than I like (about .225 at the tip) but being the first I was experimenting. My next on I'll take down to o .200
The transmission end of the lower barrel is turned to .370 and fits into a .375 by 1/8" deep counter bore of the upperbarrel, making for a nicer transition that a butt joint. The upper is turned to .470 at the CB and then to the normal 7mm finial end of about .330, it looks under turned in the pic but doesn't look of feel that way in reality. I guess it could be the profile???
Thanks to Gord for the nibless help and Mike for the inspiration to try "V" segmenting. This was fun one! Thanks for looking.
